"Do Not Hand Over Sunday Igboho To Nigerian Government"- Yoruba Group Tells Benin Republic Government

 Recall on the first day of July, Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Igboho residence was attacked. As a result, many properties were captured and several of his close associate was captured.

After attempt to capture and prosecute Yoruba freedom activist, he escaped to neighbouring country Benin Republic, were he was captured and arrested by Cotonou officials. 

The news of his arrest has sparked a lot of reactions from people especially agitators of the Yoruba Nation Movement. One of the most remarkable reactions that has made the news is of United Kingdom based Yoruba Nation Group, in a statement released from its President, they claim that the Benin Republic should respect the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), regarding asylum and detain him in Cotonou rather than returning him in Nigeria where he might be tortured and maybe killed.

They called on the Benin Republic government to stand up to its responsibilities by refusing by all means to hand over Sunday Igboho to the Nigerian government.
