Top educationist and award-winning writer, Wole Soyinka has reacted of ongoing crises in Nigeria. In an interview with Arise News, where the subject of discussion was about unity and the essence of the Democracy Day in Nigeria, Wole Soyinka faulted the Mohammadu Buhari led administration. In his claim, he mentioned that Mohammadu Buhari has failed to listen to the voices of Nigerians. He gave instances of how the Federal Government led by him was not giving a listening hear to Nigerians and as a result saw a upsurge in the secessionist agitators. He also faulted the President's claim of being democratic and that being democratic does not implies observing dates such as June 12 or other national holiday.
While speaking he also talked about the insecurity challenges of the country and that the government was not doing much in curtailing the criminals in the society and as a result of desperation of the masses, security outfits like Eastern Security Networks and Operation Amotekun came about. In his statements, he stated that part of the problem of the country is the President's cabinet. He emphasized that the people close to him are not telling him the truth about his government and that they only tell him the things he wants to hear rather than being sincere with about the country worries.
