Lauretta Onochie is a Nigerian politician and educationist. She also an educationist as she has amassed recognitions for herself in the education sector both home and abroad. She is also a close side or special adviser to President Mohammedu Buhari on social media matters as a result, she is one of the most active political personalities on social media and has never hesitated to lend her voice in support of the president or any other thing that troubles her.
She recently caught the attention of internet users when she reacted to a picture of Buhari on the streets after the Eid prayers. Even though the post in itself was not bad or with any bad motive as she was just praising the president for being a leader, she has drawn a lot of reactions especially from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) who claims that she's just desperate to be in power. Recall that she recently was nominated for the position of the Independent National Electoral Commissioner as such she is expected to be neutral on her stand as an independent electoral body.
Although being screened out if the race from that position, she claimed that she was not a part of politics and that she no longer engages in active politics any longer despite having several ties with the Action Progressive Congress(APC) and continually defended the President Buhari led government.
