The head of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, says that Nigerians deserve wealth, relatively than poverty.

He lamented that 38.5 percent of Nigerian youths are unemployed, “lacking skills, money-making opportunities, discouraged, annoyed and restless,” adding, “they give the impression of being at a hope that does not offer them hope.”
Adesina also notes on Saturday in the convocation speech he delivered at the American Academic of Nigeria, Yola, Adamawa State.
He avowed that Nigerians deserve wealth, not poverty. He furthermore counselled the state to hear how to make do its diversity for prosperity.
While urging the authority to prioritise investing in youth, he emphasized that “poverty is not always about money.”
“We are a holy nation, accordingly we must value that God that loves diversity. The diversity of prosperous and brilliant colours that we meet in our forests, oceans, seas, and in plants and fauna, indicate the beauty of the Creator. Therefore, diversity is not our problem.
“Diversity is our strength. But when it's mismanaged, diversity becomes divergence. Instead of uniting, we befit splintered, with both parties believing that, somehow, it is change for the better without the other. We have got to run diversity for collective good.
