The presidency through their political party, Action Progressive Congress(APC) has come out to debunk claims that President Mohammadu Buhari wants and will as aspirant of the Action Progressive Congress (APC) in 2003 as a political aspirant. Garba Shehu mentioned this while speaking with journalists in Katsina on Tuesday.
According to him, the People's Democratic Party are nursing a false hope that they would recover the presidency back from the APC and can't wait for him to leave. But he reassured them that Nigerians are just waiting for 2023 so that Buhari would show Nigerians the way, possibly by introducing a presidential candidate to them. In response to Garba Shehu's claim the People's Democratic Party accused the Presidency of having a secret agenda of running for a third term.
Although the Action Progressive Congress party do not have any presidential aspirant, they remain firm on following a due process. July 31st will see them have a national congress which would produce an aspirant to contest in the 2023 presidential election.
While we awaits who will fly the flag of the Action Progressive Congress in the 2023 general elections here are some names that might be out as the flag bearers.
1. Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu
2. Nasir El Rufai
3. Rotimi Amaechi.
