Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi through his the commissioner for information and state orientation, Uchenna Orji reinstated with his meeting with journalists from news outlets on Friday that the state government was willing and are on the process of granting criminals who are repentant and sorry for their wrongdoings amnesty. According to the commissioner, he said that as it's put efforts in securing the lives and properties of the citizens, it is also committed to giving a second chance to people who show a willing attitude and ready to drop arms and vices for the progress of the state. He also mentioned method in which the government plans to carry out the process he stated that by rehabilitation and reintegration into the society l, they were ready to give youth a second chance after seeing what happened during the End Sars protests.
According to him, the three billion naira released by the governor would ensure that the youths and other idle people in the state gets jobs and therefore would ensure a reoccurrence of the protest don't happen again as it brought shame to the state government.
