Governor Ayade States Reasons For Defection To APC

 The governor who announced his defection from the opposition party that is, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling party Action Progressive Congress (APC) stated that his reason for his defection was for the state to remain connected to the Federal level.


Governor Ayade who lamented the challenges of the state in terms of infrastructural development and projects, money, unemployment of the youths and many others stated that the defection would bring Cross River State to be on the same page with the Federal Government reforms and polices and programs.

In his words 'We need all Governors to know that the development of the country is not a party subject. It is all about the subject of character, honor, commitment and vision to make the nation great." He also all governors in Nigeria to work with the president and by doing so there will be no problem in the country.

 He announced this decisions after a closed door meeting with six APC governors and after the visits of several National assembly members to the Government house. Some of the governors that visited the state include: Governors of Yobe, Kebbi, Imo, Plateau, Jigawa, Ekiti state.
